DESCRIPTION:Dr. Mehrooz Zamanzadeh\, the Director of MATCO's Corrosion and
Materials Group\, will be presenting at the up and coming NACE (National A
ssociation of Corrosion Engineers) Pittsburgh Chapter on Thursday February
26\, 2015. \; The meeting starts at 6:00 pm with a dinner provided ($
20 per person)  \;and is being held in the MATCO Services Training Roo
m. \; \nIn this presentation\, \;Dr. Zee will discuss failure anal
ysis methodology applied to the principal mechanisms by which fusion bonde
d epoxy \;(FBE) coatings fail during service\; with specific applicati
on to case studies involving pipelines. \; He \;will also discuss
the primary cause and modes of failure in FBE coatings. \; Cathodic pr
otection is almost always used in conjunction with FBE for pipeline corros
ion protection. \; Examples of CP design\, stray current corrosion\, A
C interference failures on FBE will be provided. \; \nDr. Mehrooz Zam
anzadeh is \;MATCO's primary Failure Analyst / Corrosion Investigator.
\; He is NACE certified in corrosion\, coatings\, materials selection
/ design\, and cathodic protection. \; Among his credits are a variet
y of awards\, including: \; NACE Fellow Award\, ASM Fellow Award\, and
the Colonel Cox Award. \; Dr. Zee\, as he is commonly referred to as\
, has performed corrosion risk assessment\, failure \;analysis investi
gations involving corrosion and coatings\, and materials damage investigat
ions in the construction industry\, \;oil and gas industry (pipelines)
\, electric power utility industry\, transportation industry and more.&nbs
p\; He is NACE Certified Cathodic Protection Specialist\, and specializes
in \;cathodic protection \; design\, implementation\, monitoring a
nd trouble-shooting. \; \; \; \nFor reservations or more infor
mation please contact Ed Larkin\, NACE Pittsburgh Chapter Chairman\, at 41
