Technician - Coatings
The primary duties of the incumbent will be to conduct chemical and physical testing of paints and other coatings, and some plastic materials. At least one year of prior hands-on experience in coatings or in a chemical laboratory is required. The ability to travel for brief 1-2 day on-site inspection trips to client sites is helpful. The successful candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. A minimum of an Associate's degree in laboratory science of technology is required.

Technician - Cathodic Protection
MATCO is currently seeking a qualified individual to work in the area of Cathodic Protection. We're looking for someone who has experience in cathodic protection design, installation, and troubleshooting, and a passion for performing such tasks. Thanks to the diversified nature of our company, we work with cathodic protection systems on more than just underground transmission pipelines. We design, install, monitor and troubleshoot cathodic protection systems of underground storage tanks, internals of storage tanks containing various substances, underwater tunnels, offshore structures, production plant assets, and reinforced concrete. The candidate should have experience working in all aspects of cathodic protection and be an innovative thinker that enjoys seeing projects through to completion. The scope of work may not be limited to cathodic protection; experience related to corrosion or mechanically assisted failures of materials and coatings, laboratory evaluations and development work is a plus. Please describe all cathodic protection related work experience and indicate relevant NACE Certifications or other training in your correspondence.
Field Technician, Level 1
This position performs field work and labor to inspect, evaluate and provide documentation for poles, lattice, transmissions towers, telecommunication towers and related structures.
Required Qualifications:
- High school graduate.
- Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions.
- Ability to read and interpret data.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Capable of lifting fifty pounds unassisted.
- Capable of working at heights.
- Acceptable prior performance and attendance record.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Self starter.
- Current valid driver's license.
- Overtime may be required.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of inspection methodology to evaluate poles and related structures for repair and / or replacement. Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and develop new skills, as the position will require NACE certification as a technician. Incumbent will develop a working knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and Cathodic Protection.Incumbent will become certified as minimum NACE, Level 1.Works well with others and / or independently.
