Last Saturday, February 1st, 2014, three lives were lost when a 300-foot cellphone tower collapsed on Saturday and minutes later a smaller tower fell, killing two maintenance contractors and a firefighter. The contractors were tethered to the larger tower when it collapsed and the firefighter was killed when he was walking from his vehicle to the scene, according to authorities.
We salute and commend each of these individuals, and praise their efforts to ensure the safety of others and our telecommunication infrastructure. May these men rest in peace knowing that they have served the greater good and that we, as a whole, sincerely thank them for “taking care”.
Please don’t wait, have your towers evaluated today if they are experiencing any level of corrosion, coating or metal loss. Contact Matco for an immediate response.
