President Obama signs the Water Resources Reform & Development Act (WRRDA) into law which funds the nation's waterway, ports, levees, dams, and other important water infrastructure. Corrosion control is one of the foremost causes for concern and WRRDA has set recommendations for the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to have essential corrosion control plans in place. Unmitigated corrosion risks public safety, harms the environment, and costs U.S. taxpayers $276 billion each year. If properly installed and maintained, corrosion prevention technologies, such as MATCO Services innovative "System Wide Cathodic Protection" or our EPRI approvided "Tier Testing of Supplier Coatings" prior to application to determine coating characteristics and corrosion barrier properties, can significantly mitigate corrosion and eliminate corrosion risk to substanial degrees.
On Tuesday, June 10, 2014, President Obama signed the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) into law.  WRRDA, which passed both the House and Senate with overwhelming bipartisan support, funds the nation's waterway, ports, levees, dams, and other important water infrastructure and has not been reauthorized since 2007.

Among other things, WRRDA authorizes the USACE to carry out its mission of maintaining and improving several water infrastructure projects throughout the nation.  The legislation provides support for America's ports and waterway infrastructure and offers flood protection and environmental restoration solutions for some of the nation's most vulnerable areas.  The bill also sets recommendations for the USACE to have essential corrosion-control plan in place.

Unmitigated corrosion risks public safety, harms the environment, and costs U.S. taxpayers $276 billion per year.  If properly installed and maintained, corrosion prevention technologies, such as MATCO Services innovative "System Wide Cathodic Protection" or our EPRI approved "Tier Testing of Supplier Coatings" prior to application to determine coating characteristics and corrosion barrier properties, can significantly mitigate corrosion and eliminate corrosion risk to substantial degrees.
