A three day training seminar on corrosion engineering, hydrogen induced cracking, stress corrosion cracking and failure analysis was presented by Dr. Zee, a specialist in corrosion/materials engineering and failure analysis, in the State of Kuwait on February 15th-17th, 2009. Assisting Dr. Zee was Debra Riley, Manager of Sales & Marketing.
Attending the event were approximately 20-25 engineers from three different oil refineries from various engineering backgrounds. The training program provided attendees with basic training in the fundamentals of corrosion, metallurgy and failure analysis; progressed to more advanced topics including hydrogen induced cracking and stress corrosion cracking; and then followed up with practical demonstrations and training in the use of OminScan NDT equipment. Two additional presentations, one on cathodic protection and one on coatings analysis and test methods (Tier Testing) were requested and provided as well.

MATCO clients extended the warmest of welcomes by inviting us to their Bedouin camp for a meeting. In keeping with their tradition, camel's milk, tea, and fresh dates were served.
